Oman’s Early Childhood Education (ECE) framework caters to children from 3 to 5 years old, focusing on foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, social, and emotional development. The government collaborates with private sectors to expand and improve ECE services, striving toward universal access. Despite these efforts, approximately 41% of pre-primary age children are not enrolled in any educational program, suggesting significant gaps in access. Factors contributing to this disparity include inadequate infrastructure, lack of standardized curricula, and limited availability of qualified educators. Policymakers continue to work towards enhancing accessibility and quality through targeted policies, investment in infrastructure, and comprehensive teacher training programs.
